Martha had to serve five months in prison, five months of home detention, fined $30,000, and had nineteen months of supervised release after her confinment. She started her sentence on October 8th at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia. The media kept this story in the news and for the most part the public seemed to admire Martha for taking responsibility for her actions. However the real punishment for this incident may be the fact that her image was damaged, her talk show cancelled, and she never fully recovered the power and influence once was famous for.
